GrainSense Grain Analyzer integrated into CLAAS harvesters

New Standard in Harvesting – GrainSense Grain Analyzer integrated into CLAAS
harvesters

CLAAS, Europe’s market leader in combine harvesters, is investing in new technology for grain analysis. As the result of long-term collaboration, the patented technology of GrainSense, company specializing in high-quality grain analysis, is now integrated into CLAAS´ advanced harvesters. Grain quality characteristics can now be measured from flowing grain – no separate samples or halts are required. The device will be named Nutrimeter Grain and will premiere at the upcoming Agritechnica 2025 trade fair in Hannover.

The cutting-edge analyzer, which measures grain quality attributes (protein, moisture, and for oilseeds, oil content) with laboratory-level accuracy directly from flowing grain, is based on a Near Infrared (NIR) sensor developed by GrainSense. Compact yet powerful, it outperforms traditional stationary grain analyzers while significantly lowering the cost of measurement.

With Nutrimeter Grain, farmers gain real-time insights into their harvest, maximizing both efficiency and value. This breakthrough marks a decisive step toward the future of precision agriculture and reinforces the CLAAS´ position as the industry leader.

“We are very pleased that CLAAS trusts our expertise and recognizes us as a strong player in agricultural technology,” says Riku Niemelä, the CEO of GrainSense with pride. “This cooperation once again opens new doors for us to bring cutting-edge technology to ever wider markets.”

At CLAAS, the new partnership with GrainSense is warmly welcomed. “With our LEXION, we have been a pioneer in the field of precision farming and yield mapping since 1997,” says Stephan Vormbrock, VP SF EE Platform - Global Engineering. “Nutrimeter Grain will now bring us a competitive edge and success again. Our pilot customers have been very satisfied with this new method of analysis.”

GrainSense sells its proprietary technology both under its own brand and as an OEM solution. The versatile grain analyzer can be integrated into a wide range of environments, such as silos, grain dryers, and industrial settings as an in-line solution. The sensor's precision enables its use also in laboratory-grade products. GrainSense aims to establish itself as the global leader in grain analysis within the next few years.

GrainSense
GrainSense provides innovative grain quality analysis solutions based on its patented NIR-sensor technology. Compact yet powerful, the technology challenges traditional devices and significantly reduces costs compared to conventional systems.

GrainSense´s solutions are applied across industry, trade, research, and agriculture, where they enable rapid grain quality analysis. This cutting-edge technology measures protein, moisture, oil, and carbohydrate content swiftly requiring only a few kernels or continuous flowing grain, without interrupting the flow.

CLAAS
CLAAS is known for its technologically advanced combine harvesters as well as other agricultural machinery and software. It is strongly committed to harnessing modern information technology in agriculture (Smart Farming) and employs nearly 12,000 people worldwide.
