Streamlining grain quality control with GrainSense LAB at Medebys Kvarn

Medebys Kvarn is a cooperative consisting of six farmers. In their 5000-ton capacity storage, they store their own products and also provide the service to clients.
They also produce grain based animal feed and offer grain drying services.

In their operations, it is essential to assess the quality of the grain prior to storage to ensure its suitability and to accurately record quality data.
In addition, the grain must be sorted according to protein content to ensure that the desired product specifications are met.

Previously, this function had to be outsourced to external laboratories where the costs accumulate quickly and turnaround time is several days to even a week.

But now with the GrainSense Lab device it is fully integrated into the production chain, improving reliability and precision while saving costs and time.

“We don't really know of any alternatives for our business which fall under this functionality and price bracket.” says Per Johansson, Operations Manager.

“We consider the ‘Lab’ unit a major upgrade for our facility. It is very easy and fast to use. It saves us money and time and gives us peace of mind.” Per continues.

With over 700 measurements taken in the first six months, Medebys Kvarn has already seen the GrainSense device pay for itself compared to the cost of external laboratory testing.

Beyond the technology, the cooperative values the human element of the partnership. They described GrainSense team as "very active and responsive," highlighting the value of personal follow-up conversations and dedicated service.
